Wow I feel old, apparently Transatlanticism has reached its 10 year anniversary and to commemorate it Barsuk is releasing the complete demos to the seminal album for the first time. Interestingly, many of the tracks sound completely different, with more Postal Service drum machine sounds or just acoustic versions. While I haven’t listened to DCFC in ages (The Postal Service has never lost a place in my normal listening catalog), during my years in college I had this album on repeat constantly, and it looks like I’ll be pulling out the LPs for some more play.
This was a nice treat down memory lane, and if buying digital tracks is your thing, Barsuk will be releasing this as a digital only next Tuesday the 29th.
Or its on what today.
