Some day…maybe by the end of the year…if we’re lucky…we’ll have Kill for Love on vinyl. I trust that the fancy vinyl and exquisite songs will be worth the wait, but I’m just so damn impatient.  Until then, enjoy another teaser.  

Collateral - Desire EP

Collateral is a mixed Parisian trio, polarised between synthetic hints and electric inspirations. Qualified experts in melancholic dance music (majoring in suburbian minimal wave and Italians Do It Better productions), they have remixed artists such as Keren Ann, Arnaud «Blackstrobe» Rebotini, Chad Valley or Tanlines, and recorded a couple of EPs in association with the blazing producer Villeneuve (collaborator of M83, Anoraak, Team Ghost…). First one will be released in April 2012 by desire. Performing live, they can rely on their monomaniac friend Rolande, devoted rhythm machine.

Not surprised to see the connection to Italians Do it Better.  These two tracks have a grand atmospheric feel, something sounding in between IDIB & a Minimal Wave release but more haunting.  Track two picks up the beat more, and almost has that electro dance balad sound of Glass Candy.  Stellar single through and through, and as a bonus there are super limited (25 to be exact) quantities of curated mixtape to accompany it with an exciting track list featuring many more unknown artists than recognized, at least by myself.  Check out the full track list below:

Brand New from Kill for Love LP

That’s right, the new Chromatics LP, Kill for Love just went online at iTuNezz so you know what that means? Race to your nearest online piracy source (what?) to snag a copy of the hour and half epic sequel to their seminal Night Drive LP…at least while you’re waiting for a proper release on some heavy colored vinyl.

I’ve been refreshing the Italians Do It Better store daily for weeks now waiting for this to drop (srsly), and hopefully it won’t be much longer now that the album is out digitally.  Knowing IDIB, they’ll drop a Ltd colored 180gt 2XLP of Kill For Love on something bright & poppy, so keep them eyes peeled to grab one what will be a sell out release.

I’ve only been waiting for this followup for five freakin years, since stumbling upon Night Drive late one night in college after being lured in by the emblematic album art.  Go listen to Night Drive right now if you don’t know what I’m talking about, and not some single from it, the whole thing through proper.

Listening through now. Cannot Wait. Wants the vinyl.
