Terror Bird - She Kissed Me (and I Fell Ill)

Super stoked to see sophomore LP from Terror Bird on the way this month!!! Nikk Never produces an excellent mix of snyth goth pop, making it dark, and yet still so accessible.  After a super rough (& +++ awesome) cassette from Night People back in 09’, a 2nd demos cassette next year, a string or four 7”s and counting, and then finally a full length LP jointly released through NP & Adagio830, the two before mentioned labels are joining again for the sophomore release of Secret Rituals.  Hadn’t checked on Nikki in a while, and frankly had no idea she was in the works on a followup album so soon, but when I saw the music video for this track on some Paris venue’s email list that I somehow got added too, and starting digging down the rabbit hole, lo & behold.

This track appearing on the Secret Rituals LP was originally released on the Waiting for Nothing 7”  from Verulamium Records

Refreshing to see an artist crack out so many quality releases in only the last 3 years, quite a catalog including all those cassette tracks.  Check out of most of the tracks on their BnDcMp

Terror Bird - Secret Rituals LP is out on super Ltd to 100 copies Purple vinyl from Adagio 830 exclusively now with the rest on black from Night People eventually.  Word of warning with the Adagio 830 site, I hope your German skills are passable.

p.s. introducing FeastOfBeast.com! no more .tumblr! Does this make it a real website?…prolly not

Palmz - Summer Dreamzzz

It may not may not be summertime, but if you need a little joyful summer pop to get you through this dreary and snowless winter take a listen to the new Palmz cassette out soon on Verulamium Records.

Palmz - Grow EP cassette is out Feb. 6th and Ltd to 100 red cassettes.  Pre-order yours here

Terror Bird - Thrill Killer

Ok so no idea how I missed this release, but seeing as it went under the radar of both what and discogs, I don’t feel too bad about being asleep at the wheel. Dark, gothic, syth, glamor kids from Vancouver, Terror Bird apparently snuck out a new 7” ep release all the way back in March and decided to tell no one about it. They put it out as the first release on new mirco label Verulamium Records based out of London.

Now the good news: even though its limited 500 copies apparently they are still available. I find this very surprising and to be honest the reason this all came up is because I was posting on the new Blouse LP, making comparisons to these guys…a quick google search later to find this release.

I think Nikki Never and her band Terror Bird are completely of a similar caliber to Blouse and better than plenty of other unbuzzworthy bands about. Guess their releases have just stayed on more obscure labels (Human Culture LP is still available via Night People) and kept them out of the limelight. Well mark my words, these kids are talented and on the brink of something great, so stock up on their tunes while you can.

Terror Bird - Waiting for Nothing EP is out now and Ltd to 500 copies on rad brown vinyl from Verulamium Records here for only about $10 bones including overseas shipping to the states. Not too bad at all.
