Veronica Falls - Waiting For Something to Happen
Veronica Falls - Buried Alive
Latest single from the Veronica Falls sophomore LP, Waiting For Something To Happen.
Also pretty psyched for ’…a new covers EP which includes tracks by Homeblitz, Bob Dylan, The Rats, The Moles, The La’s and Ween. The tracks were recorded in one take at James’ flat in Whitechapel on 8 track reel-to-reel tape. There will be a very limited vinyl pressing of the EP which is available to pre-order now via Rough Trade.’
Veronica Falls - Waiting for Something to Happen LP is up for pre-order from Slumberland directly here, out February 12th. The
Ltd edition on white vinyl is unfortunately already sold out, but you can still pre-order a plain jane black LP. Honestly kinda surprised it sold that quickly, guess I didn’t realize how much their deserved popularity had grown.
Veronica Falls - Teenage
Looky looky Veronica Falls’ sophomore album Waiting For Something To Happen is due out February 12th and Slumberland just threw up pre-orders here. All pre-order copies through the label are on Ltd white vinyl like ya see above; max two copies per person, so no hoarding. First single sounds superbly popy, and I expect their album to follow in suit.Source: slumberlandrecords.com
They Shoot Music Don’t They: Veronica Falls play an unplugged version of their brand-new single “Teenage” (Album out early next year) in a beautiful old cemetery (full of cats and kittens) in Porto during Primavera Sound Festival 2012.
New LP Waiting For Something To Happen will be released February 4th on Bella Union (UK) and February 12th on Slumberland (USA)!
Listen to new track “Teenage” now via Soundcloud.
Novella - Don’t Believe Ayn Rand
I love everything about these chicks off of Italian Beach Babes (Fear Of Men, Dirty Beaches). The music is my ideal girl vocal driven pop punk, akin to earlier (& better) Dum Dum Girl releases. The artwork is super rad, and definitely befitting of the music. AND the song title?! Fucking brilliant, super witty. I wanna see them kick it live…
Check out more tracks on their SnDcLd here, solid, every last one.Source: soundcloud.com
Brilliant Colors - Should I Tell You
Forgot my damn Polaroid for the Brilliant Colors show Sunday night at Flywheel, oh well. Despite the fact that the vocals are always too low at Flywheel, the show was effin awesome. It might’ve been the shortest act I’ve ever seen, but it was raw power and passion. They closed out with my favorite track!^^^! and everyone in the band was super friendly n nice before the show. Its a church basement with usually a max capacity of maybe 50 people, and I think the show was all of $7 bones, so what are you gonna do? There was also a slew of ok openers, excluding the very first one (of course) called Baby Barnyard. Very beautiful Twin Sister-esqe sounds from a boy/girl twosome. Wish they had cassettes with em, but luckily they’ve got a name your own price download on the ol’ BnDcMp.
Brilliant Colors had a sweet super Ltd to 100 copies demo cassette split with Veronica Falls that I snagged. Maybe if I get around to it I’ll make a digital rip and get it online. Not sure if you can pick it up anywhere else besides at shows. BC have their first two LPs and an EP still available from Captured Tracks and Slumberland.
