Kría Brekkan - Wildering (suil version)

In the spirit of Halloweekend (I dub it thee), here’s an eerie and haunting track filled with ghostly vocals and vinyl crackles.  Kría Brekkan was Icelandic front singer to Múm, and is wife to Avey Tare (also know as that Animal Collective dude).  This was a 7” she first released in 2008, and I would kill for a copy on vinyl.  Not sure if they still exist except for 50 quid on discogs, the label and page to buy one is all in Icelandic so who knows, but I emailed them politely asking for a copy so we’ll see…It was featured on this years gvsb Halloween Mixtape, which is surprisingly good and I suggest you download for free as well here

You can however grab her excellent new Uterus Water 7” on Paw Tracks here.

Also apparently she and Avey put out a dual efforts album in 2007 called Pullhair Rubeye.  It was recorded with guitars and piano on an eight-track during 2006 in their practice space in Brooklyn and later mixed down on a borrowed two track.  The entire album was released in reverse and some of the songs at double speed.  There seems to be mixed reviews, some diggin the weird reverse intended sounds, others claiming you need to hear it in forward to appreciate it.  Find that one here.
