Christmas Island - Poisoner 12” EP

I distinctly remember first picking this Christmas Island 7” with the fantastic cover art (^^^) from Captured Tracks around the same time as I started listening to The Sandwitches. Yes I bought it because of that rad cover art. But isn’t it awesome that the two dorky elementary school kids grew into the the dorky band members? Aha. Anayways the 7 led me into the album on In the Red Records, which is chock full of songs about Dinosaurs, islands, and such. It was one of those fun records that’s perfect for summer time boombox blasting. Well it’s been 3+ years since Blackout Summer, and after some scattered singles and splits, we’re finally been gifted an EP with a whole 18min worth of songs.
The tracks have the same childish fun loving tone, you know poisoning people, haunted houses, and whatnot. But the song construction feels stronger, a little more dynamic and more catchy if that’s possible (its hard to compete with dinosaur songs). It’s a solid EP and I’m looking forward to their sophomore LP with keen anticipation.
Christmas Island - Poisoner 12” EP VOLAR19 is out on translucent red vinyl & Ltd to 100 copies from Volar Records here. There’s some reg black ones too if the pretty ones run out.
