Part two of new Captured Tracks goodies: Heavenly Beat is the side project from John Pena aka Beach Fossils’ bassist.  I never heard any of his previous tracks, and apparently he’s been hard at work on this ‘side project’ since some time prior to joining BF.If you like the CT sound, aka Wild Nothing/Beach Fossils etc, this one is right up your ally, but respectably it’s own avenue.  Definitely has a strong Swedish pop influence in the best of ways, see Air France (RIP), with some Balearic undertones.  Love the minimal voice sampling on faithless.  This may be one of my favorite CT releases to grace my turntable.  Pure pop wonder.
