Soft Metals - Voices

Dark & romantic synth pop, with the right combination of Italo club beats for you to dance your face off.  Soft Metals are the DJ duo Patricia Furpurse and Ian Hixx merging simple, but intoxicating analog synths with gorgeous 80esque vocals from Patricia to provide the perfect dark oubliette dance soundscape.  Somehow these Portlanders ended up on the most hallowed Brooklyn label Captured Tracks (you must remember by now? where dum dum girls got their start).  They’ve managed to slip under the radar, and I’ve been sitting on their fantastic 5 track The Cold World Melts EP for too long.  Limited to 500 on white vinyl, mine was actually white with black wisps…details details.  I’d say if you’re a fan of Chromatics, Glass Candy, or anything from Italians Do It Better you will die in love with Soft Metals.  Grab the The Cold World Melts EP here, its pretty far down list.  Maybe apple/ctrl soft m, would be helpful?  Wild Nothing’s Summer Holiday 7”  is back in print from captured as well, with possibly his best song, so snag it while you’re there.
